U9's League
Welcome:
This is the web page of the Under 9’s. There are currently two teams playing in this age group managed by Mark Hambling and Andy Sims. The teams bring together children from Blofield, Brundall, Hemblington and the surrounding areas who last season played in the Norfolk Youth Football Combination (NYFC) and performed well in their first season of non-competitive football. The teams will split leagues for the 2009/10 season, with Andy taking a team to play in the North East Norfolk Youth League (NENYL), while Mark will continue with a team in the NYFC.
There are pictures of our teams in the Gallery, take a look later...
Team News:
Hunters League (Mark’s Team)

The squad has made significant progress over the season and are now a squad who will go into a game with confidence and competing on the pitch against all opposition. The league fixtures are non competitive with no league table or results being recorded but throughout the season the teams have won approximately half of their league fixtures. The games this season have been 5 a side and all home matches have been played at Blofield School. Away matches have involved trips to Sprowston, Poringland, Hethersett, Lakeford and Dereham.
Similarly to the league the tournaments are non competitive but the squad has continued its progression as a team by playing in these events, including events at Carrow Park, Dereham, Old Catton and the Norfolk FA Soccer on the Sands tournament on Great Yarmouth Central Beach were they represented FC Porto. At this event the team decked their team base out with Portuguese flags and the odd Ronaldo shirt was seen between games.
Hawkers League (Andy’s Team)
We played our first season in the NYFC playing in the non-competitive Under 8 Hawkers League. All the players made great progress during the season, but we had an uncanny knack of conceding goals in the first minute of matches, which always made things interesting. The team performed well against some very good teams and held there own most of the time. We enjoyed away trips to Wymondham, Sprowston, Spixworth, Scole and Hellesdon during the season. A new challenge awaits next season when we will be playing 6 a side football in the NENYL.
If anybody is interested in joining this age group (must be under 9 at 31 August 2009, but must also be 8 at this date as well) please contact us.
